The Fire Fighters’ and Police Officers’ Civil Service Commission will hold its regular meeting in the City Tower Room 00.W410 Concourse Level Large Conference Room beginning at 9:00 AM. Once convened, the Fire Fighters’ and Police Officers’ Civil Service Commission will take up the following items no sooner than the designated times.

Once a quorum is established, the Fire Fighters’ and Police Officers’ Civil Service Commission shall consider the following:
 
Approval of Minutes
 
1.
Approval of the minutes from the Fire Fighters' and Police Officers' Civil Service Commission meeting on March 6, 2024.
Briefing and Possible Action on the following items
 
2.
Protest and appeals of questions from the written examination for the position of Fire Captain administered on March 7, 2024.
3.
Notice and appropriate action regarding the approval of the eligibility list for the position of Fire Captain created from examination administered on March 7, 2024. This eligibility list will remain in existence for one year beginning on the first day of the month following the month the written examination was given or until the list is exhausted. If changes are made to the examination as a result of the Appeals Hearing, this item will be tabled, and an amended eligibility list will be certified at a subsequent Commission Meeting.
4.
Notice and appropriate action regarding the approval of the eligibility list for the position of Probationary Firefighter created from Probationary Firefighter Examination administered on February 23, 2024. This eligibility list will be valid for a period of one (1) year from the effective date or until the list is exhausted.
5.
Notice and appropriate action to approve a list of psychiatrists to evaluate a San Antonio Police Department applicant.
6.
Notice of SAPD and SAFD disciplinary suspensions without pay:
a. A one (1) day suspension for Officer Jose V. Peralta effective March 7, 2024.
b. An agreed three (3) day suspension for Officer Rusty J. Rushing effective March 8, 2024.
c. An agreed three (3) day suspension for Officer Tim R. Garcia effective March 6, 2024.
d. A one (1) day suspension for Fire Engineer Emily Leffler effective March 8, 2024.

These matters have not been appealed and are therefore final.

e. An indefinite suspension for Officer Eric Duffin effective March 4, 2024. A letter of appeal was received on March 4, 2024.

The Fire Fighters’ and Police Officers’ Civil Service Commission may at any time during the meeting recess into an executive session to discuss personnel and/or legal issues related to any item on this agenda, pursuant to Section 551.074 (personnel matters) and 551.071 (consultation with attorney).
