Fire Fighters’ and Police Officers’ Civil Service Commission meeting

The Fire Fighters’ and Police Officers’ Civil Service Commission meeting will hold its regular meeting in the Municipal Plaza Building, 114 W. Commerce Street, San Antonio, TX 78205, Room B beginning at 9:00 AM. Once convened, the Fire Fighters’ and Police Officers’ Civil Service Commission meeting will take up the following items no sooner than the designated times.

Once a quorum is established, the Fire Fighters’ and Police Officers’ Civil Service Commission meeting shall consider the following:

 
Approval of Minutes
 
1.
Approval of the minutes from the Fire Fighters' and Police Officers' Civil Service Commission meeting on March 15, 2023.
Briefing and Possible Action on the following items
 
2.
Protest and appeals of questions from the written examination for the position of Police Sergeant administered on March 3, 2023.
3.
Notice and appropriate action regarding the approval of the eligibility list for the position of Police Sergeant created from examination administered on March 3, 2023. This eligibility list will be valid for a period of one (1) year after the date on which the written examination was given or until the list is exhausted. If changes are made to the examination as a result of the Appeals Hearing, this item will be tabled, and an amended eligibility list will be certified at a subsequent Commission Meeting.
4.
Notice and appropriate action regarding the approval of the eligibility list for the position of Fire Engineer created from examination administered on February 28, 2023. This eligibility list will remain in existence for one year beginning on the first day of the month following the month the written examination was given or until the list is exhausted.
5.
Notice and appropriate action regarding the certification of the eligibility list for the position of Probationary Firefighter created from Probationary Firefighter Examination administered on March 17, 2023. This eligibility list will be valid for a period of one (1) year from the effective date or until the list is exhausted.
6.
Notice of SAPD disciplinary suspensions without pay:
a. A fifteen (15) day suspension for Lieutenant Angel L. Castillo effective March 9, 2023.
b. An agreed one (1) day suspension for Officer Anthony Ramirez effective March 8, 2023.

These matters have not been appealed and are therefore final.

Executive Session  
The Fire Fighters’ and Police Officers’ Civil Service Commission may at any time during the meeting recess into an executive session to discuss personnel and/or legal issues related to any item on this agenda, pursuant to Section 551.074 (personnel matters) and 551.071 (consultation with attorney).
