The Fire Fighters’ and Police Officers’ Civil Service Commission Meeting will hold its regular meeting in the Municipal Plaza Building, Room B beginning at 9:00 AM. Once convened, the Fire Fighters’ and Police Officers’ Civil Service Commission Meeting will take up the following items no sooner than the designated times.

Once a quorum is established, the Fire Fighters’ and Police Officers’ Civil Service Commission Meeting shall consider the following:

 
Approval of Minutes
 
1.
Approval of the minutes from the Fire Fighters' and Police Officers' Civil Service Commission meeting on June 6, 2022
Briefing and Possible Action on the following items
 
2.
Protest and appeals of questions from the written examination for the position of Police Detective Investigator administered on June 3, 2022.
3.
Pending the outcome of the Police Detective Investigator Appeals Hearing, notice and appropriate action regarding the approval of the eligibility list for the position of Police Detective Investigator created from examination administered on June 3, 2022. This eligibility list will remain in existence will remain in existence for one (1) year from the day after the written exam was given, or until the list is exhausted. If changes are made to the examination as a result of the Appeals Hearing, this item will be tabled, and an amended eligibility list will be certified at a subsequent Commission Meeting.
4.
Notice of SAPD and SAFD disciplinary suspensions without pay:
a. An agreed thirty (30) day suspension for Officer Evan B. Bagley effective May 31, 2022.
b. An agreed one (1) day suspension for Sergeant Matthew Brown effective May 31, 2022.
c. An agreed five (5) day suspension for Officer David Tobias, Jr. effective June 1, 2022.
d. A three (3) day suspension for Fire Engineer Kelly Abbott effective June 1, 2022.
e. An agreed two (2) day suspension for Detective Frederick J. Grataski, Jr. effective June 2, 2022.
f. An agreed one (1) day suspension for Officer Kevin L. Bell effective June 4, 2022.
g. An agreed one (1) day suspension for Officer Jacob R. Mata effective June 4, 2022.
h. A one (1) day suspension for Fire Engineer Marco Garcia effective June 7, 2022.
i. An agreed ten (10) day suspension for Officer Taylor C. Sanchez effective June 8, 2022.
j. An agreed twenty (20) day suspension for Officer Taylor C. Sanchez effective June 8, 2022.

These matters have not been appealed and are therefore final.
Public Comments
 
The Fire Fighters’ and Police Officers’ Civil Service Commission may at any time during the meeting recess into an executive session to discuss personnel and/or legal issues related to any item on this agenda, pursuant to Section 551.074 (personnel matters) and 551.071 (consultation with attorney).
