The Fire Fighters’ and Police Officers’ Civil Service Commission Meeting will hold its regular meeting in the 100 W. Houston Street, San Antonio, TX 78205, City Tower Conference Room A 00.W405 beginning at 9:00 AM. Once convened, the Fire Fighters’ and Police Officers’ Civil Service Commission Meeting will take up the following items no sooner than the designated times.

Once a quorum is established, the Fire Fighters’ and Police Officers’ Civil Service Commission Meeting shall consider the following:

 
Approval of Minutes
 
1.
Approval of the minutes from the Fire Fighters' and Police Officers' Civil Service Commission meeting on June 12, 2023.
Public Comments
 
Briefing and Possible Action on the following items

Protest and appeals of questions from the written examination for the position of Police Detective Investigator administered on June 29, 2023.
3.
Notice and appropriate action regarding the approval of the eligibility list for the position of Police Detective Investigator created from examination administered on June 293, 2023. This eligibility list will be valid for a period of one (1) year after the date on which the written examination was given or until the list is exhausted. If changes are made to the examination as a result of the Appeals Hearing, this item will be tabled, and an amended eligibility list will be certified at a subsequent Commission Meeting.

Review, discussion, and possible action regarding an SAFD applicant appeal to beginning positions.

c. A fifteen (15) day suspension for Fire Captain Stephen Watts effective April 25, 2023.
d. A termination for Probationary Officer James Garza effective June 1, 2023.
e. A termination for Probationary Officer Anthony Ramirez effective June 1, 2023.
f. An agreed one (1) day suspension for Officer Tim R. Garcia effective June 7, 2023.
g. A one (1) day suspension for Officer Esmareldo Sanchez III effective June 7, 2023.
h. An agreed one (1) day suspension for Officer John R. Quiroz effective June 7, 2023.

n. A termination for Probationary Officer Steven Mobley effective July 3, 2023.
o. An agreed one (1) day suspension for Officer Jody Gonzales effective July 10, 2023.
p. An agreed one (1) day suspension for Officer Joseph Guevara effective July 1, 2023.
q. A one (1) day suspension for Officer Kenneth A. Yamaguchi effective July 5, 2023.
r. A one (1) day suspension for Officer Sarah B. Mendez effective July 6, 2023.
s. A three (3) day suspension for Officer Sammy H. Salas effective July 4, 2023.
t. An agreed one (1) day suspension for Officer Vincent L. Reisiger effective July 2, 2023.

These matters have not been appealed and are therefore final.
The Fire Fighters’ and Police Officers’ Civil Service Commission may at any time during the meeting recess into an executive session to discuss personnel and/or legal issues related to any item on this agenda, pursuant to Section 551.074 (personnel matters) and 551.071 (consultation with attorney).
